What are they?
Design themes are essentially "skins" for the interior pages and mobile of a specific department of the main site that does not need its own full website, but would like to differentiate itself. Some examples are Police, Parks & Recreation, Utilities, Fire, Library.
File Set Up
Start from the main site file. Save it as its own new file, then remove all the homepage artboards, leaving only the interiors, mobile, and favicon artboards. Those will be the only ones to edit.
What to edit
- colors
- background images (if there's not one on the homepage you can add one or vice versa)
- logo (the height should remain the same)
**Don't forget to edit the mobile comps too!**
What does NOT change
- layout/placement of elements
- dimensions
- fonts (styles or sizes)
Saving files
Upload files to Box, using the same folder structure as with other processes. Within "Comps" create (if there is not already) a folder labeled "Design Themes". In that folder create a folder for the relevant project.
Uploading to Invision
Upload the comps within the main site project on Invision, do NOT create a new project. Add a new section, labeling it accordingly along with the date. Same as all projects, do NOT add the mobile comps to Invision.
