Backgrounds are a continuous source of confusion and miscommunication between PMs, Devs, and QA. The language is murky at best. My recommendation is to ask the PM what they intended it to be in person/over the phone and for them to provide examples of sites that function the way they want.

Backgrounds need to be specified for the homepage and interiors independently. If they are to function identically, then that should be mentioned prominently.

Primary Options

• 1 single background programmed into the code, can only be changed by a developer
• 1 single background changeable from custom content
• A collection of backgrounds from Custom Content, pulled randomly
• A collection of backgrounds from Custom Content, that rotate

Display Options

• Fixed Background (Where the content scrolls over the background)

• Static Background (Image fixed at top or bottom or both, fading to a gradient)
