Emergency Email Templates

Template 1: Initial notification

Hello *|FNAME|*,

Several Vision-hosted websites are currently experiencing access issues. We have reason to suspect the cause is a DDoS attack, and we are working to mitigate it and restore website access as soon as possible.

We will send email alerts with any further updates, or you can check uptime status at http://visioninternet.hosting

Yours sincerely,

Template 2: Update

Hello *|FNAME|*,

As an update to our previous communication, websites still have limited or no connectivity for visitors. [We are activating our disaster recovery data center to restore public access for sites running visionCMS, and as those websites start up one by one we estimate they will begin to be available to the public between _:__pm to _:__pm PT (_:__pm to _:__pm ET).

During this time please be aware of the following:
  • Your website will be available to the public, although it may respond a bit more slowly than normal.
  • You will not have access to make changes in your CMS back end at this time.
  • Any eNotifications automatically scheduled to go out during this time will not be sent until the site is back on our primary data center.
For affected sites using our older CMS 4 or 5 versions your site will continue to have access issues until the primary cause is resolved. (Not sure if you have CMS 4 or 5? If your admin login looks like either of these screenshots, you are on CMS 4 or 5.)

Our network technicians [have isolated the cause to ______ and] are working to restore full access. We will email updates as soon as more information is available, or you can check uptime status at http://visioninternet.hosting
