Make Recurring Overview
Often times events will occur on a regular basis based upon some consistent time schedule (e.g. regular events, meetings, etc...). To make the creation and management of these regular occurring events easier to manage, you can use the Make Recurring feature within the Calendar component.
Using this feature you can take an event, and recur it according to a specific pattern. This will copy all the details and settings from your source event, and create individually linked events with difference start/end dates in the calendar. These can all be edited separately as required.
How to Make an Event Recurring
Under Site Content in the primary CMS menu, select the Calendar link in the dropdown menu. Hover over a row and click an event; then select the Make Recurring action from the dropdown.
This will bring you to the recurring event form:
The recurring event form is divided into 3 main type as listed below:
Weekly Recurrence
To set a weekly recurrence, click the Repeat Pattern: Weekly radio button. You will see the weekly recurrence options.
Use the pulldown menu to select the number for Every (1-3) Weeks the event should recur. Then select the day or days of the week on which the event should occur.
Monthly Recurrence (default)
To set a monthly recurrence, click the Repeat Pattern: Monthly radio button. You will see the monthly recurrence options.
Use the pulldown menu to select the number for Every (1-12) Months. The use the radio buttons to select which date of the month the event recurs on (the default is the date of the original event). There are options such as First & Third or Second & Fourth that can be used to create two events per specified month.
Yearly Recurrence
To set a yearly recurrence, click the Repeat Pattern: Yearly radio button. You will see the yearly recurrence options.
Use the pulldown menu to select the number for Every (1-10) Years. The event will recur on the date of the original event.
After setting one of the above three recurrence options, you must select the end of the recurrences.
Either select the End After radio button, and enter the number of occurrences, or select the End By radio button then click the mini calendar icon to select the date by which the Recurrence should end.
Click Save to create the recurring event or Back to abort.
